Hyderabad-bound bus from Nagpur with 29 passengers catches fire; no casualties

Описание: In an unfortunate incident, a private travel bus carrying 29 passengers (including two drivers and one cleaner) from Nagpur to Hyderabad caught fire in Nirmal district at Telangana on Tuesday wee hours. Fortunately, due to the alertness of the driver, all the 29 passengers had a narrow escape and went unhurt.

The vehicle that went up in flames caught fire at about 3 am near a toll plaza at Ganjal village in Soan Mandal of Nirmal. The bus along with he luggage of the passengers got completely gutted in fire. The driver said some mechanical defects led to the bus catching fire, due to which a loss of about ₹20 lakh was estimated.

The Station House Officer (SHO) said the bus driver noticed smoke in the engine chamber. He immediately stopped the bus and got down to inspect the engine only to find out sparks in the wiring.

Both the drivers and cleaner immediately alerted all passengers who were deep asleep. The passengers stepped out along with their luggage within 15 to 20 minutes, by which the bus was engulfed in flames.

The passengers traveled towards Hyderabad on another bus of the same travel company. A case has been registered by the police and an investigation is underway.
