Delhi Flood Alert: Yamuna Breaches Danger Mark, Evacuations Urged in Low-Lying Areas | India Today

Описание: A flood advisory has been issued in Delhi as the Yamuna river's water level crossed the danger mark. The rise is due to lakhs of cusecs of water being released from the Hatnikund Barrage in Haryana. On Monday afternoon, the water level touched 205.55 meters, and this morning it reached 205.79 meters at the old railway bridge, nearing the 206-meter evacuation level. Water has entered residential areas like Yamuna bazaar, and authorities have asked residents near the riverbank to move to safer places. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the affected areas to inspect the situation. An official stated, "The water level was about to touch 206 in the morning... But it has not gone beyond this. This is a good sign for us." The administration is on high alert as the meteorological department has predicted further rain.
