A brand new Jenneau 50 DS "Sun Rush" has been put into charter at Airlie Beach in the Whitsunday Islands, Queensland, Australia. I was very impressed with the sea keeping qualities, comfort, and practicalities of this new design as were the owner and his son. She sailed at a respectable speed and was easily driven. Note the Wide Bay Bar crossing at the beginning of the clip and how she handled the short steep waves on the quarter while in the shallow and notoriously treacherous stretch of the bar crossing. There are plenty of hand holds in just the right places both down below and in the cockpit.
Sun Rush changed my attitude about production yachts. They are a value for money option if you prefer brand new.
