This video is a review of the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 vs the Puma Velocity Nitro. The retail price for each is $120.00 U.S. dollars. Both are neutral road shoes that are light enough to accomplish many of your daily workouts including slow paced easy workouts and those run experiences when you want to pick-up the pace.The Pegasus 38 is the heavier of the two option coming in at 9.9oz or 282g for a men's size 9 on my scales while the Puma Velocity Nitro came in at 9.1oz or 258g. The Puma Velocity Nitro does feature a more lightweight and breathable upper. The eyelet chain on the Pegasus 38 uses a band system that is sewed directly to the upper and down to the midsole. While the Velocity Niro is a traditional lacing system. I do feel a little more snug across my mid foot in the Pegasus 38 but both are secure. They have an equal amount of padding around the heel collar and tab although the Velocity Nitro does feel a little softer. The Pegasus 38 features full length React foam from heel to toe with an air unit located in the forefoot. The PSI for men in the air unit is 20 and 15 for the ladies version of the shoe. While the Puma Velocity Nitro has Nitrogen infused foam from heel to toe with the addition of a more dense foam located just in the heel of the shoe that is separated by a plastic piece. The outsole rubber on each is about the same. They are both covered from heel to toe in all of the high abrasion areas adding both longevity and traction. Overall they are both well cushioned and comfortable. The Puma Velocity Nitro I found to be a little more lightweight, cool on foot, and faster to run in with a bit more ground contact feeling, while the Pegasus 38 is softer in the heel with a natural feeling when transitioning from my foot strike through to my toe off.
