Sombre Steam at the Great Central Railway | Winter Steam Gala | January 2020

Описание: The Great Central Railways 2020 edition of their annual Winter Steam Gala of which this year fell across the long weekend of the 24th-26th January, would see the Guest Appearances of LNER K1 no. 62005 (making a rare visit in the South Courtesy of the North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group) and recently returned-to-traffic GWR 4900 Class no. 4953 'Pitchford Hall' in lined BR Black livery (courtesy of the Epping Ongar Railway), agmonst the line's pick and mix collection of 2 cylindered locomotives, including GWR Hall 6990 'Witherslack Hall', Ivatt 2 46521, BR 2MT 78018, ex-LMS 3F "Jinty" 47406, BR 5MT 73156, BR 9F 92214, ex-LMS 5MT 45305 and ex-LMS 8F 48305*, along with the very warmly welcomed appearence of North Eastern Railcar autocar 3170, standing in for the usual Class 101 DMU, courtesy of the N.E.R. 1903 Electric Autocar Trust.

This video, captured over 2 days of the event, owing to the mixed bag of weather conditions and loco performances, features the vast variety of traction out in steam at the head of Passenger Workings, various demonstrations freight trains, Named Expresses and Double Headers, at a number of spots along the 10 mile long double track railway between Loughborough Central and Leicester North, including Charnwood, Buddon Lane, Rabbit Bridge, and Leicester Crossing, just to name a few.
