Описание: I've always said that I can often learn more from a failed or flawed archaeological pottery artefact, than from a perfect piece. It's particularly pleasing when I see that Roman potters have had to deal with the same problems that I encounter in replicating their ancient pots. Here you can see evidence for the use of a cracked mould, showing up on a sherd of Roman Terra Sigillata, Samian Ware, Dragendorf 37 pottery bowl, made in Gaul and excavated from the Roman Fort and settlement at Vindolanda near to Hadrian's Wall.
