It contains the #1 hit "Womanizer," the top 5 hit "Circus," and the top 20 hit "If U Seek Amy." The album was a transition from her previous album, in which she went from dark and urban and club sounds to a much more lighter and incorporating electropop and dance-pop styles. The album contains fiery and confrontational lyrics throughout the entire album. It mostly contains themes of self-confidence and empowerment. The album was recorded in summer of 2008, a time Spears was recovering from much-publicized personal struggles from 2006-2008. The album put Spears back on the map in the pop world and is considered one of the greatest pop comebacks of all time.
