“Dear President Trump.
Words DO MATTER.
This is not about politics.
It's about Human Decency.
When you posted the R-word on your social media for the world to see, you showed no human decency.
Using the R word is not only a seriously outdated, dirty, filthy word-it is disgusting.
It blinds people from seeing capabilities.
Its use degrades and dehumanizes people with disabilities. When used
-it's hurtful and wounds millions of people, their families and friends.
You have the power, Mr. President and position to set an example. We are asking you TO BE BETTER. Rise UP.
Lead by example and stop using this word.
It is a big deal to millions.

The word is not acceptable, and it perpetuates a stereotype that millions of families have worked tirelessly to eradicate.

When leaders use language like this, it does real harm. It signals that bullying, making fun of vulnerable people, and cruelty is acceptable.

We stand strong as proud, hard-working, American citizens, who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect like everyone else.
