Now that you are comfortable standing on your edge, it’s time to organizing your body on both circle… one larger than the other. With 2 different sized circles comes 2 different speeds in the body.
Part 2 of the airplane exercise focuses on:
✔️ refining weight distribution over the smaller circle with knee bend and slightly in front (skating foot)
✔️ aligning under the opposite side of the body with the free leg extended on a larger circles pressing slightly back; The pressure of the hips and torso presses against centripetal in the direction of the curve, while pressing through the feet to connect to the ice.
✔️ maintaining control while staying low and stable.
This step is essential before transitioning to one-foot balance in Parts 3 and 4.
If Part 2 feels shaky, that’s information — not failure.
This is a progression, not a shortcut.
