When Jain monks and vestals don’t migrate and they live on a place in the Rainey season, the 8 days great festival is to be celebrated as “Paryusanparv” in which the Jains listen to the great mentors of Jainism and celebrate Mahav¬¬irJayanti and they apoligisefor the mistakes committed during the whole year. They also initiate the New Year. They organize fast and penance, some for 8 days and some for a month, they have water only during these days, and even they don’t have food.
