I've been really taken with liminal spaces lately - so decided to have a go at creating some renders based upon the fantastic works of Jared Pike. I found myself increasingly drawn to examples of liminal spaces which were a little more quiet, minimal, dreamy and contemplative - so was eager to create something a bit different to the more common "found footage" lofi handheld style. (which I definitely still love in its own right!)
I was thinking of different ways to still keep things a little dynamic and interesting, and decided upon simply animating the environment light within the scene slowly - which felt like a nice way of disorienting the viewer as to their perception of time, and how long they've potentially been here.
Would love to know if there's any interest in more videos along these lines - would be happy to take this further in to an ongoing series if there is!
