Installing a tubeless tyre is a rather simple task, however several things need to be taken under consideration, which we will mention in this episode.
here is everything you need to know in order to install your tubeless wheels set.
this is what you will need to install to make your wheel tubeless:
if you are installing a used wheelset you will need to carefully clean the rim before starting- it's important to clean your rim before applying a tubeless kit in order for it to hang tight and for a long time (not to mention that you don't want it to fail in the moment of truth...) pill of any old tape remains, use sticker remover to remove all adhesive reside.
after cleaning the rim, choose the right rim tape according to the rim width (use a ruler or a measuring tape to accurately measure it). the tape should cover the rim side to side. start applying the tape 5 centimeters before the valve hole. continue to apply the tubeless tape while maintaining a firm tension, complete one round of the wheel and cut the tape 5 centimeters after the valve hole.
We recommend making the valve hole using a welder and a hot screwdriver. using a knife might create a cut that can expend with time (pro's tip right there...). by using a welder, you will get a nice round hole so take our word for it.
before applying sealant install the tire and inflate it. check the wheel for major air leaks that might point some of the tape is not placed well.
After making sure there are no air leaks, deflate the tier add sealant and inflate the tier again.
