Oh, I don't like those...
Could be your first thoughts.. no one wants their child feel uncomfortable doing a test/assessment.
Don't worry...THEY'RE PLAY-BASED and not hard for children.
In fact your child is unlikely to know that they aren't getting a response correct/incorrect because we support the child just having a TURN or engaging or PLAYING.
We are trained to get information from CHILDREN in a FUN way, and you're included in that. We ask YOU questions, have you in the room and it's more like catching up at a play-date rather than a serious/clinical/boring test. Most kids don't even realise that they're "doing work".
These aren't like the assessments you did at SCHOOL or UNI.
Children will SMILE, LAUGH, choose TOYS, play BUBBLES (maybe get candy depending on the therapist) and you're welcome to bring treats, snacks and drinks too.
Assessment are a fancy- word for HOW CAN I HELP YOUR CHILD?
The reports are a fancy way of saying HOW CAN I GET SUPPORT FOR YOUR CHILD?
