The Ezequiel Dias Foundation, located here in Belo Horizonte, is an institution for laboratory surveillance, research, development, and production of immunobiological medicines.
Currently, it supplies the MENINGITIS-C vaccine, produces anti-venom serums, antivirals, and other medicines for the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS).
In 2017, ENGEAR carried out a Turn-Key project at FUNED, which became a state reference, with the main scope being the HVAC system for clean and controlled environments and cleanroom infrastructure.
At ENGEAR, our goal is to be a consultative partner for our clients, providing HVAC systems and cleanroom infrastructure.
The project carried out at FUNED consolidated ENGEAR in the Life Science segment, demonstrating continuous technical capacity to meet construction, functionality, and operational requirements for achieving ISO 5 cleanroom classification.
TROX is a leading company in the development, manufacturing, and sales of air conditioning components, equipment, and systems.
We had the pleasure of participating in the filter ceiling project at FUNED, in partnership with Engear.
We supplied several products for this project, but I would like to highlight, first and foremost, our premium product, TKZ.
It is a piece of equipment designed, sized, and individually tested for each application, being airtight and completely hygienic.
We also supplied H14 filter ceilings for this project, with regenerative seals, thus forming an ISO 5 laminar flow.
The great flexibility and customization capabilities of our products allowed us to meet all the complex and technical requirements of this project.
And it also meets ISO 5 standards, which limit the number of suspended particles in the air and ensure laminar flow.
All of this was carefully planned and well executed by the teams at FUNED and ENGEAR, with TROX's participation, turning this partnership and installation into a great success.
The Turn-Key installation at FUNED consisted of 62 fan filter units with EPA H14 filtration from TROX.
Two routes totaling 25 TR, three tons of TDC duct, and the assembly of cleanroom infrastructure such as sanitary partitions, interlocked doors, rounded corners, pass-throughs, shafts, and others.
An ISO 5 cleanroom requires strict technical requirements for design, installation, and operation, where the number of air exchanges, counts of non-viable particles like dust fibers and viable ones like microorganisms, are some of the parameters for its classification.
The system maintains, through automation, the ambient temperature of the filling room at 18°C, plus or minus two, with relative humidity between 55% and 65%, and positive differential pressure in relation to adjacent rooms, meeting all current regulatory requirements.
In addition to the installation, we also performed the commissioning and qualification of all systems in the filling room.
This project was considered one of the largest filter ceiling installations in the country, ensuring unidirectional airflow, grade A cleanliness, and control of air pressure, temperature, and humidity for the injectable filling room.
The entire project and installation meet the technical requirements of ANVISA and NBR 14644.
We are very proud to be part of this project of great national importance for the health of the population.
