By 2025, the United Nations could pass the first global treaty to stop plastic pollution—from how it's made to how we clean it up.

That includes:

Cutting harmful fishing subsidies
Protecting coral reefs
Cleaning up ocean plastics before they enter the food chain

Coral reefs support 25% of all marine species.

When plastic blocks sunlight, coral dies.

When coral dies, fish disappear.

And the ocean loses its power to absorb carbon dioxide.
