Being able to see through the layers is such a magical thing about watercolor. It can also be a tricky thing, because sometimes the colors that mix visually on top of each other create colors you didn't expect or want. I think it's so important to explore concepts like this in low pressure ways, so that's exactly my goal in this fun and easy sketchbook watercolor exercise. Play with the concept and then observe the colors, it will teach you so much that you can use in future paintings!
In this video I used my Big Ideas Sketchbook, size 12 wONEderbrush, and Unicorn Food Crave palette all from my website. I also used a heat gun and a flat wash brush to spread the water.
