Differences in how a course is taught across sections, departments, and institutions can have a significant impact on student success, particularly in pre-university (Pre-U) and technical programs. However, student success also requires each teacher to have some pedagogical autonomy due to the highly contextualized nature of the profession. This webinar will explore how greater alignment in curriculum planning and teaching practices can result in a more consistent and supportive learning experience, including helping, not hindering teachers’ ability to make good pedagogical decisions for their classes.
Drawing on real examples from across colleges, we’ll discuss challenges and strategies for addressing disparities in course structure, pacing, and assessment. We will introduce CourseFlow as a tool that has helped several departments tackle these issues, supporting equitable practices through structured planning.
