I didn't know what to expect from 458 SOCOM. I figured the trajectory would be difficult to deal with at longer ranges, and yeah, I was right about that. But I didn't expect this round to be so darn precise. This 350-grain Speer Hot-Core with H110 powder is capable of printing .5 MOA, which is only a little larger than the projectile itself. Rock River knows how to build a rifle. As for the damage produced at these practical distances, it's a bit confusing. The permanent wound channel is a consistent 1 inch or so, even with the soft point flattened out to 0.68". But one thing is for certain: that kind of sustained damage is going to prove terminal, even with the projectile cruising out the other side of the critter.
