Ways to cover plantings and sowings with fleece to speed their growth. In early spring, fleece converts spare light to warmth and protects plants from cold winds.
The fleece I use is not the default, thin grade (17gsm) which disintegrates within a month or two. Look for thicker fleece at least 25gsm, maybe 30gsm, or 1oz/yard approx. As here https://www.gardening-naturally.com/3.... In this video are both 25gsm and 30gsm, some of the pieces are four years old.
Fleece is best for cool conditions and until spring temperatures by day are 20C/68F or more, after which you usually don't need it.
Mesh is more useful for pest protection, also against winter winds.
