When we do the fumigation of commodity using ALP(Aluminium Phosphide) the remaining residue left out is aluminium hydroxide also known as aluminium ash. If pouch or sachet are not use then this ash is contaminated with the commodity and is carry forwarded with the material in processing.
This ash can be hazardous and poisonous if consumed. It is recommended to use pouches while placing the tablets in stack or use ALP sachet for doing the fumigation.
