As a leader for a Kent State team that reached the MAC Championship in 2021, Nico Bolden shined for the Golden Flashes' defense. With the ability to jump passing lanes in the secondary, as well as to come upfield and make a big hit in the box, Bolden's versatility was a big reason why the Golden Flashes trusted him in his first season with the program. Bolden totaled double-digit tackles in five games and also recorded 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 pass breakups, and 1 sack in 11 games played. Some of Bolden's biggest highlights came against elite competition. He recorded an interception at Kyle Field while playing Texas A&M and also forced a fumble in College Park against Maryland. He also added a clutch interception in the MAC Championship Game. Bolden's size adds to his elite skillset and helped to make him one of the top DBs in the MAC in 2021.
