This is the final Edmundo Dantes cigar being released. It was created for commercial use for Mexico in 2007 as the product of a joint venture between Habanos SA and Max Gutmann, the owner of Importadora y Exportadora de Puros y Tabacos. The name Edmundo Dantes was created to replace Montecristo due to some trademark issues here in North America.
Edmundo Dantes is a character created by author Alexander Dumas just like its sister marca Montecristo. Sad to think that the 5,999 boxes out there are the last we'll ever see of these. Hopefully, I'll come across another box sometime soon so I won't feel so bad smoking these.
