Working Online as a Studio/Session Drummer & Percussionist

Описание: Here is a lecture/masterclass on developing a stream of income as a studio session drummer/percussionist while working strictly online. I do many of these types of projects annually and they normally supplement my performing and teaching income. In this time of pandemic shutdown these gigs are a true blessing since the music is recorded in a solitary fashion to be assembled at a later date. The projects consist of composers, arrangers, singer/songwriters and television/movie composers who are looking to put live drums and percussion on their recording projects. In many ways this is less expensive for them since they are not paying for studio time but are getting a studio sound as well as expert musicians to perform on their projects.
As a drummer you are usually the first musician to lay down your tracks on a developing project.
Many times all you get is a bare bones arrangement with a click and basic drum chart if that.
Therefore you have to take on much of the creative responsibility.
In this video I demonstrate one such recent project. I show you two contrasting big band tunes and explain how the project works as well as talking you through the charts. I also explain how I work with the artists and develop long term musical relationships with them.
