I am naturally quite introverted so when I became of age and started dating I was instantly feeling insecure around the girls that I liked. However, I learned that just because I was shy didn't mean that I still couldn't succeed at dating and get the girls I liked to like me too. I learned from reading How To Win Friends and Influence People that I didn't need to actually DO anything to get ANYONE to like me - all I needed to do was find that person interesting, I just needed to be interested in the other person by asking them questions about things that they cared about - and almost like magic the emphasis was no longer on myself. The pressure was off!

So if you are both shy and like each other, start meeting up and getting to know each other, ask them plenty of questions about themselves - sooner or later you will both start to feel more comfortable around each other and your insecurity will vanish. The more time you spend with each other the less shy you will both become.
