In this video, we witness the changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, located in front of the Hellenic Parliament in Athens 🇬🇷. The ceremony is performed by the Evzones, the elite ceremonial guards of Greece, known for their traditional uniforms and slow, synchronized movements. The guard change takes place every hour, while a larger and more elaborate ceremony occurs every Sunday morning.
After the ceremony, the walk continues into the peaceful National Garden of Athens, located directly behind the Parliament building. Originally created in the 19th century as the Royal Garden for Queen Amalia, it is now a beautiful public park filled with shaded pathways, Mediterranean plants and quiet spots to relax.
Best of all, entry to the garden is completely free, making it a perfect place to escape the busy streets of central Athens.
