Main Points:
∙ Your nervous system has two modes: regulated (calm, safe, able to handle life) and dysregulated (fight/flight/freeze, survival mode)
∙ When you’re regulated: you can focus, make decisions, handle stress without falling apart
∙ When you’re dysregulated: your body thinks there’s a threat (even if there isn’t) → you’re in survival mode
∙ ADHD brains dysregulate faster, stay dysregulated longer, and have a harder time coming back down
∙ Why? ADHD brains don’t regulate dopamine and norepinephrine the same way → baseline is already wobbly
∙ Small stressors for others = big dysregulation for ADHD brains
