Meet Rita Alice, a #10XProgramParticipant who is hard of hearing. Over three weeks (January 5th – 25th, 2026), she joined Refactory Academy’s Foundations of Software Development course under the Hire a Lab initiative. In that time, she learned how to build a website — a skill she now intends to use to grow her small fashion and design business.
Her journey is a powerful reminder that young women, including those with disabilities, can design, code, and create. This initiative, held in Mbale, Fort Portal, Mbarara, and Mengo, is part of Refactory’s commitment to opening doors for women aged 18–35 to access digital skills and opportunities.
