Excluding the Kent Thameside Darts, this is the oldest Single Decker in the main Arriva Kent Fleet, although not the oldest, that goes to the two remaining ALX 400s. Despite reaching 20 years old now, this Optare Solo is still an absolute beast. When I first rode on it a few months ago, I knew I would one day have to get a proper video of the old girl so here is that video. Annoyingly, and what is the case for all previous videos since Metrobus loans part 5 - which was meant to be the orignial new microphone video, the new microphone I bought, I had plugged into the headphone socket, not the microphone socket, so this video and those will have been recorded via the internal mic, luckily this one did not distort despite how loud 1466 is. So enjoy the sounds of this absolute beast of a Cummins 6 Pot Optare Solo!
