Описание: उत्तर प्रदेश के मैनपुरी में स्थित चांदेश्वर महादेव मंदिर एक प्राचीन और सिद्ध शिवधाम है, जो ईशन नदी के किनारे बसा है। यहाँ काले पत्थर का जागृत शिवलिंग विराजमान है, जिसकी विशेषता यह है कि हर अभिषेक—जल, दूध, घी, शहद, पंचामृत आदि—यहाँ अत्यंत विधिपूर्वक होता है। मान्यता है कि यहाँ की अदृश्य शक्ति अनपढ़ों से भी रुद्रपाठ करवा देती है। मंदिर में स्वामी योगानंद सहित कई संतों ने तपस्या की है।

"चांदेश्वर" नाम की उत्पत्ति चंद्रमा के प्रकाश से आलोकित होते शिवलिंग के कारण मानी जाती है। यहाँ की मूर्ति कभी बाढ़ में नहीं डूबती, केवल जलस्पर्श होता है। 10 सोमवार पूजन से संतान की प्राप्ति की मान्यता है। महाशिवरात्रि, श्रावण मास और प्रदोष के दिन लाखों भक्त यहां जुटते हैं। मंदिर परिसर में अन्य देवी-देवताओं के मंदिर भी हैं।

मंदिर प्रबंधन द्वारा भंडारे आयोजित किए जाते हैं और चंदा नहीं माँगा जाता। पास में च्यवन ऋषि आश्रम, रानी का मंदिर, पक्षी अभयारण्य जैसे दर्शनीय स्थल हैं। यात्रा का सर्वोत्तम समय सितंबर से मार्च है।

यह मंदिर शिवभक्ति, लोक आस्था और तपोभूमि का अद्भुत संगम है। हर हर महादेव!
