Honestly at first glance, this looks like any other wanton mee.. but don’t be fooled.
Welcome back to #Makanlist.
Today, we’re at Golden Roast Char Siew and they’re serving up the classic wanton mee.
This place was highly recommended by my uncle who raves about it even though he stays overseas.
The noodles are springy and coated in a sauce that hits all the right notes — a little heat, a little sweetness, and a lot of satisfaction in every bite.
For $3.50, you’ll get a generous serving of deliciously roasted char siew along with a few pieces of wanton that’s packed with Tee Poh (Dried Sole Fish)
The stall is run by Mr and Mrs Tan — a lovely elderly couple who once helmed a stall in Ubi avenue 1, now located here at Whampoa food centre.
So if you’re in Whampoa, be sure to say hello to them to get your wanton mee fix!
