As Krypton faces imminent destruction, Jor-El and Lara make the heartbreaking decision to send their infant son, Kal-El, to Earth in a spacecraft. Unbeknownst to them, a parasitic alien entity known as Starro breaks free from containment in Jor-El's lab and secretly boards the vessel. However, Starro detaches and is lost during the voyage. The ship eventually crash-lands in Kansas, where the child is discovered and adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent, who name him Clark. Growing up with extraordinary powers, Clark embraces his destiny as Superman, later forming an alliance with Batman and revealing his identity to Lois Lane, whom he marries and with whom he has a son named Jon.
