The Nobel Prize in Literature for 1932 was awarded to John Galsworthy. This is a reflection on The Forsyte Saga, which comprises the novels The Man of Property, In Chancery, and To Let, as well as the interludes "Indian Summer of a Forsyte" and "Awakening." Galsworthy would continue to chronicle the lives of the Forsytes and their relatives in a collection of short stories, On Forsyte 'Change, and two additional trilogies: A Modern Comedy and End of the Chapter. The entire series of novels and stories about this archetypal family is known as The Forsyte Chronicles.
