This 5-drill session will help develop:
1. Speed without the ball
2. Speed with the ball
3. Sharpness on your change in directions

No matter if you’re a striker, winger, or midfielder, or defender; being able to change direction both on and off the ball is key to being the best! Stop losing speed battles against opponents!

Drill 1️⃣: Non-Stop Change Direction
✅ Between 2 cones 5 big steps apart, constantly change direction on each side while facing the same direction the whole time
🎯 4 sets | 2 sets with ball & 2 sets without | 45 seconds per set
This drill works on: hard change in direction and change in directions from both feet

Drill 2️⃣: Double Change
✅ Follow the cones as you make 2 change in directions at full speed
🎯 8 sets | 4 sets each side | 2 sets with ball & 2 sets without each side | 6 reps per set
This drill works on: changing direction at speed and tighter ball control

Drill 3️⃣: “M” Changes
✅ Follow the “M” pattern as you make sharp movements at each cone to stay as close to the cones as possible
🎯 8 sets | 4 sets each side | 2 sets with ball & 2 sets without each side | 8 reps per set
This drill works on: small spaced tight movements, tight ball control, and tighter turns

Drill 4️⃣: Weave To Zigzag
✅ Weave through the straight line of cones, then immediately go around these zigzag cones
🎯 4 sets | 2 sets with ball & 2 sets without | 7 reps per set
This drill works on: agility, quick feet, and speed after a change in direction

Drill 5️⃣: Fast Feet To Change
✅ Go over the straight lines of cones and get to the cone in front on the same side. Immediately change direction to get to the last solo cone
🎯 8 sets | 4 sets each side | 2 sets with ball & 2 sets without each side | 6 reps per set
This drill works on: quicker feet, hard change in direction, and speed after change in direction
