The year 2025 emerged as a historic milestone for India’s Ministry of Home Affairs, marked by decisive actions to realise the vision of a secure, stable, and developed India. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, the Ministry focused on tackling some of the most serious internal security challenges facing the country.

Major achievements included the near elimination of Left Wing Extremism, record neutralisation and surrender of Maoists, and the declaration of several regions as Naxal free. Strong counter terrorism operations such as Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev dismantled Pakistan backed terror networks, while improved intelligence coordination and stricter laws pushed the NIA conviction rate to one of the highest globally.

Jammu and Kashmir witnessed greater peace and integration as separatist organisations renounced violence and youth outreach programmes strengthened constitutional faith. Cyber security infrastructure was significantly upgraded through automated FIR systems, nationwide forensic expansion, and a multi layered cyber crime response strategy.

The implementation of three new criminal laws ushered in a faster, transparent, and victim centric justice system. A zero tolerance policy against drugs led to massive seizures and destruction of narcotics worth thousands of crores. Border management, immigration reforms, disaster response preparedness, CAPF modernisation, and preparations for Census 2027 including caste enumeration further reinforced national security and governance.
