In this video I start building crossbow limbs from solid wood — no fiberglass, no shortcuts.
This is Part 1 of the build, where I focus on getting the rough shape laid out and cut before moving into tillering, refinement, and tuning later on.
Right now it’s all about:
Selecting the wood
Laying out the limb profile
Removing material and establishing the basic shape
They’re ugly at this stage — and that’s the point. Good limbs aren’t rushed.
This series is about doing it the hard way, learning as I go, and seeing if wooden limbs can actually perform without exploding in my face.
Part 2 will cover refining the shape, flex testing, and getting closer to final form.
