A Freeze Warning is in effect through Friday morning across Northern California following a major Sierra storm.
Cold air and clearing skies will drop temperatures into the upper 20s and low 30s, with impacts to people, pets and plants. An avalanche warning remains in effect Friday as deep Sierra snowpack settles after multiple rounds of snow.
Another weather impact alert is expected Monday through Wednesday as rain and Sierra snow return. Snow levels are forecast to rise to 6,000 to 8,000 feet before lowering again, with up to about 1 foot of additional Sierra snow and around 1 inch of rain possible. Rain falling on lower-elevation snow may increase runoff into rivers and tributaries.
