Sidesaddle or side-saddle putting is a putting technique which involves more straightforward movements and body positions when compared to traditional stroke putting.

When you perform Lateral Line (side-saddle) putting, your focus will be on distance assessment while your stroke mechanics dictate direction . With a face forward position, you now can use your binocular vision for depth perception which you can then transfer to the feel you need for the green conditions as well as the overall distance.
