Lenovo has announced its plans to launch the Phab 2 Plus smartphone in India. The company has sent out invites to a launch event on Tuesday, and has even confirmed that the smartphone will be launched exclusively on Amazon India. The big highlights of the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus smartphone are its big 6.4-inch display, its dual camera setup, and its massive 4050mAh battery.
To recap, the Lenovo Phab 2 and Lenovo Phab 2 Plus were launched at the company's Tech World Event back in June this year. The Lenovo Phab 2 Plus was the premium variant of the two, and was launched for $299 (roughly Rs. 20,000). The India price of the smartphone will be revealed at the Tuesday event.
As for specifications, the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus sports a fingerprint scanner at the back, right below the dual camera capsule. It features a 6.4-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8783 octa-core processor with MaliT720 GPU and 3GB RAM. The smartphone offers 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 128GB).
The Lenovo Phab 2 Plus runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company's Vibe UI skin on top. It supports a hybrid dual-SIM slot (Micro + Micro/microSD). It bears a dual 13-megapixel rear camera setup with dual-LED Flash, PDAF, laser auto focus, f/2.0 aperture, Fujitsu Milbeaut ISPs, and 1.34-micron pixels. At the front, there is a 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels.
It packs a 4050mAh battery, and weighs 218 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. The Lenovo Phab 2 Plus will be available in Champagne Gold and Gunmetal Grey colour options

Lenovo Phab 2 Plus, the successor to the original Phab Plus device will launch in India on November 8. Lenovo has sent out media invites to the press for a launch event in Delhi. The invite says “Its time to live life Phab size.” There’s also the Amazon logo on the invite, indicating this device will exclusive to the e-commerce portal.
Lenovo Phab 2 Plus comes with a 6.40-inch with Full HD display with 1080 by 1920 pixels resolution. The phablet is made of aluminium alloy with curved 2.5 glass on the front. The Phab 2 Plus is powered by MediaTek MTK8783 octa-core processor, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage expandable to 128GB via microSD card.
Lenovo Phab 2 Plus has two 13 megapixel rear cameras along with an 8MP front camera. Battery on the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus is 4050mAh. This is a single-SIM device with a Nano-SIM slot. Lenovo’s Phab 2 Plus also comes with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 surround sound support. Sensors on the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus are G-Sensor, Proximity Sensor, L-Sensor, E-Compass, Gyroscope Hall Sensor.

Lenovo Phab 2 Plus also has an augmented reality mode in the camera to let users create photos and videos with superimposed effects such as virtual backgrounds or cartoons. However this is not the same as the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, which is the Google Project Tango enabled smartphone. The Project Tango smartphone has an array of sensors to figure out real-world spacing and experiences for the user, which won’t be possible on the Phab 2 PLus.
Lenovo Phab 2 Plus was priced at $299 which is around Rs 19,999. The Phab 2 Plus was announced in San Francisco at the company’s Tech World Conference in June this year along with the Phab 2 Pro, and the new Moto Z smartphones.
