I hiked this 5 km section of the Bruce Trail in Dundas, Ontario on a cool Saturday in early November with the autumn leaves still on the trees, starting on Governor's Road and ending on the Tews Falls Side Trail at Cascades Park. At King Street, the official Bruce Trail follows residential street sidewalks, but I decided instead to take a hiking path that follows the train tracks and meets up with the Bruce Trail near the end of this hike.
At times, this trail does skirt along subdivision housing and a golf course, but for the most part, it's just a quiet wander through natural areas on the outskirts of Dundas. The wetland area is wonderful for birdwatching.
If you're going to be hiking regularly on the Bruce Trail, I totally recommend the Bruce Trail App (not sponsored). It's a paid app, but it is so helpful to help you figure out where you can and can't park, nearby bus stops, access points & side trails leading to the Bruce Trail, and current Trail Updates information.
As part of my healing and recovery during cancer treatment, I'm slowly but surely hiking the Bruce Trail in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Here's the playlist with all my Hamilton Bruce Trail hikes: • Hamilton Bruce Trail Hikes
