Anders Johan Signature Rangström, born 30 November 1884 in Stockholm, died there May 11, 1947, was a Swedish composer, vocal coach, music critic and conductor. As a young Rangström became fascinated by August Strindberg, whom he also visited a few times in 1909. After Strindberg's death manifested his admiration with his First Symphony subtitled August Strindberg in memoriam (1914). In 1915, he was ready with the opera Kronbruden, a musical setting of Strindberg's play. With Strindberg's approval, he had, however, omitted the last two acts of the play. Rangström his conducting debut in 1915 at the premiere of his own Symphony Strindberg. He was in 1922 appointed chief conductor of the Gothenburg Orchestra Society, where he succeeded his friend and fellow Stenhammar. Because of their lack of expertise as a conductor, he was not long in the post but had to quit already in 1925. Along with Kurt Atterberg, Natanael Berg and Oskar Lindberg was Rangström a tonsättargruppering who went under the name of the debris.
Rangström had from 1935 a summer home on Thorn Holmen next Gräsmarö in Gryts archipelago, and is buried in the cemetery in Gryt. The movie has nothing to do do with Rangström. It is just a peace of free art.
