ICASA Conference, ACCRA, Ghana; Introduction of Lenacapavir, lessons learned from early implementation in Africa This satellite session brings together early-adopter countries, technical partners, and innovators to share practical insights from the first wave of Lenacapavir introduction across Southern and Eastern Africa. The session will explore how this twice-yearly PrEP option is expanding choice, strengthening person-centred prevention, and informing national HIV programs. Country representatives from Eswatini, Zambia, and Mozambique will present early lessons from readiness assessments, regulatory and policy preparation, supply chain and health system planning, provider training, and demand creation. Discussions will focus on implications for scalability, sustainability, and integration of HIV self-testing (HIVST) within Lenacapavir delivery models. The session will then examine how digital and AI-enabled technologies are advancing demand creation for PrEP and Lenacapavir. MOHCC Zimbabwe and technical partner Shout it now from South Africa will share approaches to targeted demand generation, digital engagement strategies, and their early results, followed by an interactive audience discussion.
