About the course:

This course is designed to utilize the virtual lab facilities (https://www.vlab.co.in/) provided by the government of India, An Initiative of the Ministry of Education Under the National Mission on Education through ICT.

Good lab facilities and updated lab experiments play a vital role in understanding the various concepts and getting a hands-on feel of theoretical ideas for any engineering discipline. Lack of experimental resources may hinder the learning process; thus, the Virtual Lab addresses this issue by providing remote access to simulation-based Labs in various science and engineering disciplines. It also instills curiosity in the students by providing visual aids of complex phenomena and allows them to learn at their own pace.

Throughout this course, we will learn how to access, use, and utilize the Virtual Labs in chemical engineering. We will dive into experiments conducted in the Fluid phase, Heat transfer, and Reaction engineering laboratories. The focus of the course will be to provide a theoretical concept used in the experiment, performing experiments in the virtual lab, and how to evaluate results obtained.

In this lecture, we will perform the Virtual Lab experiment to find the emissivity of a material .
