Former Australian of the Year Grace Tame faces calls to be stripped of her title and prosecution for hate speech following her address at an anti-Israel protest in Sydney. The 31-year-old activist used controversial phrases including 'from the river to the sea' and 'globalise the Intifada' whilst calling Israeli President Isaac Herzog a war criminal. No recipient has ever been stripped of the Australian of the Year award, with such decisions resting with the National Australia Day Council's ten-member board, whilst Queensland prepares to become the first state to ban these phrases with penalties of up to two years imprisonment.
