আফগানিস্তানে ভয়াবহ ভূমিকম্পে নিহতের সংখ্যা বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ৮১২ জনে। আহত হয়েছেন কয়েক হাজার মানুষ। সবচেয়ে বেশি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে কুনার প্রদেশ।
তালেবান সরকারের মুখপাত্র জাবিহুল্লাহ মুজাহিদ জানিয়েছেন, কেবল কুনারেই নিহতের সংখ্যা ৮০০ এবং আহত হয়েছেন আড়াই হাজার মানুষ। এছাড়া নানগারহার প্রদেশে ১২ জন নিহত ও আরও ২৫৫ জন আহত হয়েছেন।
