The Koneswaram Temple of Trincomalee, also known as Thirukonamalai Konesar Temple, is a complex of classical-medieval Hindu temples located in Trincomalee, an important Hindu religious pilgrimage destination in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. It is also known as the Temple of the Thousand Pillars and Dakshina-Then Kailasam (Southern / Ancient Kailash). The most revered of Sri Lanka's Pancha Ishwarams, Konesar Malai was constructed extensively in antiquity atop a peninsula with views of the Indian Ocean, Gokarna Bay, and Trincomalee District. The primary Shiva shrine on the monument is called Kona-Ishvara, or Konesar.
