On 5 December 2023, the Girls Go Circular initiative – in collaboration with the European Commission, Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) – organised the third edition of the Women and Girls in STEM Forum.
The event gathered +900 researchers, practitioners, teachers, and influential stakeholders STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) across Europe.
The initial segment featured a dynamic high-level panel discussion addressing the prevailing dynamics of gender equality in STEM and ICT throughout Europe. In the second half, a student competition was organised where Teams from Malta, Luxembourg, and Bulgaria, the three finalists, presented inventive concepts for an eco-friendly robot designed to spark interest in STEM among girls. An expert jury and an engaged audience facilitated the live determination of the winning team.
