D-Darling was written by Newley/Bricusse for their very surrealistic "The Johnny Darling Show" (TV), released on disc 1962.
This is one of my alltime favorite Anthony Newley songs !
The b/w film clips are from "Idol on Parade" (1959), the coloured from "Doctor Dolittle" (1967).
The little "Dolittle" film clips show the lovely relationship between Emma Fairfax (Samantha Eggar) and Matthew Mugg (A. Newley), which was almost cut off the film (because old Rex Harrison was jealous of young & handsome A. Newley !!!).
So they cut the complete romantic song "Where Are The Words" and parts of "Beautiful Things" all sung by A. Newley!!). This is a pity, because this pretty film would be much more prettier with the complete scenes and songs.
My wish: Please restore the film with ALL its scenes & music !!!
And content ID (music - UMG) again ! Blocked in Germany !!
