Ableton Live 12’s Roar effect is powerful on its own, but it becomes a completely different beast when you modulate it with the Polyrhythm MIDI generator. In this tutorial, I show you how to break the standard workflow by using generative MIDI tools not for notes, but as a complex modulation source for audio effects.
We’re taking a standard drum loop and forcing Roar to react to a polyrhythmic pattern. This creates evolving, glitchy textures and movement that you can't achieve with standard LFOs or envelopes.
