The International Criminal Court says that U.S. sanctions against two of its judges over its case involving Israel, were a flagrant attack on the court's independence.
It says such measures targeting judges and prosecutors who were elected by the States Parties, undermine the rule of law.
Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, issued a statement earlier saying the U.S is imposing sanctions on judges Gocha Lord-kipanidze of Georgia and Erde-nebal-suren Damdin of Mongolia for their direct involvement in efforts to investigate, arrest, detain and prosecute Israeli nationals, without Israel's consent.
It includes voting with the majority in favour of the ICC's ruling against Israel's appeal on December 15.
Rubio went on, saying the ICC has continued to engage in politicised actions targeting Israel, which set a dangerous precedent for all nations.
