Both the weedicides have some plus points and some negative points which have been descried in this video.
Herbicides are most important tool for weed management and wheat crop production. Some of herbicides by nature are not fully safe on wheat but mostly ill effects develop due to tank mixing of incompatible products, misuse, overdose without keeping use specifications in view, spray in salt affected or sandy soils, in wet moisture without watching weather forecast and other factors. Not only reason of wheat losses due to herbicides but also remedial measures have been suggested to escape phytotoxic effects on wheat.
Use of proper herbicides play an important role in wheat crop production technology. Herbicide selection is an important decision for safe and effective weed control in wheat. Use of improper herbicide may lead to incomplete weed control in wheat crop.
In most of heavy loam soils of Punjab province, wheat crop is frequently treated with Altantis super 6 WG of Bayer Pakistan which is a combination of mesosulfuron plus iodosulfuron. In this video, we have shared the results this herbicide which was sprayed @ 100 gram plus 160 ml/acre 21 days ago in the Subhani variety planted for seed multiplication in the Plant Physiology Section under the Directorate of agronomy Ayub Agricultural Research Institute Faisalabad. It has been shared that this herbicide provides very effective and long shot results against Phalaris miner (Dumbi Sittee) and most other weeds. It has been concluded that this herbicide controlled weeds very selectively and professionally without harming wheat crop.
Many farmers spray Atlantis Super herbicide for weed control in wheat crop. Few days after the spray of mesosulfuron herbicide discoloration, shriveling of leaves and stunting of growth. Miss spray may also result into phytotoxic effects. Plant healthcare is considered as an important factor by the farmers of wheat. Some of the cares and remedial measures like delay in water application and use of amino acids have been recommended to restore the health of wheat crop. Atlantis super herbicide gives a stress on the crop that helps us to promote the growth and development of new tillers of wheat crop. These tillers can not emerge without the stress applied by a herbicide. Use of herbicide effectively controls the weeds and herbs that absorb the major and important nutrients that were to be used for wheat plants alone. If we manage to control all the weeds in time, it will have very good impact of the production of wheat crop and we may achieve higher yield in line with the potential of different wheat varieties.
